What is the recipe for the glaze pottery-brown or red ox blood color and an oven fire.?

What is the recipe for glaze glaze under fire about 800 degrees Celsius oven and shooting with the exception of Custer feldspar, but the inclusion of potassium kaolin, rock crystal, red oxide, borax. What percentage of each material for the front-red or red ox blood, but must be clear and bright, and be able to take a degree Celsius from 700 to 800 degrees Celsius in most 900-1000. What will the mesh and I do not want the varnish to run. Thank you and God bless Jeff

The use of calcium salts or strontium oxide form.

Where could I order a reasonably priced, small to medium sized electric kiln?

I enjoy ceramic sculpting, but I haven’t been able to in a good while without a kiln to bisque or glaze them in. Does anyone know where I could buy a kiln that’s around one square foot for up to $400? I’d prefer something in the $200s range, if possible. I’m perfectly fine with used or refurbished kilns, rust is fine as long as it’s purely cosmetic. Doesn’t have to do a medium/high cone, since I mainly do sculptural, but the capability would be nice.

Sometimes you can find a used kiln and even with replacing the elements it can be a good deal. Check out Craig’s list, Ebay, and Bargain News. Below are some links to also give you some idea of what’s available for new and used kilns.

Make sure you get something that will be big enough for your sculpture and have the features you want. Extra insulation will cut down on your electric costs. Remember to match up your electric service with the kiln. Most residential services will need a single phase, and not a three phase. You also need to know if you need a 208V or 240V kiln. These days most people prefer computerized kilns rather than manual — easier to fire and program. Consider ventilation too.

So research what is available and get what is best for you, not just what is the cheapest.
