Do I need a heating pad and / or heating lamp for my corn snake?
I'm about to buy my first pet snake. I took great care of rats and snakes, water snakes in a nature center, but never had one of mine. The heating situation snakes in the study was based on who was responsible. Some had used fluorescent lamps and ceramics. Always turned heat sources at night, to "imitate" the natural evolution of the day and night. I read the literature that says you need a light and a heating pad and other However it is not necessary. I do not know what the night setting should be. The snake and I'll share the same room at school, if a light in the night would be of concern to both our sleep cycles. Any comments would be great, I want to do things to set up and squared away before reaching the small!
how my productions are the platform of the head rest, 24-7 to provide constant heat. I also have heat lamps on timers that perform two functions that provide a temperature cycle between day and night also increase during the day and the temperature drop overnight
Please help…how to keep pet rats cozy-pie in a garage?
I’m planning on keeping 2 pet rats in a cage in my garage and want advice on the best, economical way of keeping my ratties cozy. I can’t spend a lot on heating, but want some method that will keep the garage warm-at the moment the garage is soooo cold and I’ve heard that there are various ways of keeping rats warm…heat lamps, ceramic-bulb thingies, halogen heating…but which is best??? Please help
Suzie, are you sure that just warm bedding would keep them warm enough?? Have you kept your rats outdoors before? I’m so scared incase they catch cold or something…but I’ve never kept rats before so I’m quite clueless on this subject
I can’t keep them in the house at all-i would love to keep them indoors- because the home-owner has made his decision very clear to me-that rats in the house are a definite no no. However, they will be allowed indoors for a significant part of the day-just not their main base to be indoors
You should get a box to out in their cage, fill it with tissues or newspaper and every night heat up a wheat bag or hot water bottle. That should keep them warm. Other than that, a heat lamp is probably your best option. You should be able to pick one of those up from your pet store for about $20.
