What should I do to prepare a wood floor is heated to produce ceramic tiles? Is there a special caulk / glue

I would like to know how to prepare and install a floor tile in a floor heating wood. Is there a better coating? leaves? special glue / sealant? What tiles themselves, whether they are "special? Is there a slurry of concrete required to support expansion / Contraction? Thank you!

I agree with twonk. tile is not intended to be glued directly on the plywood. layer base is needed to establish enough tiles on wood. January 1 / 4 "Hardibacker is sufficient, or 1 / 2" Hardibacker or Durock if desired. thinset the Hardibacker / Durock plywood with glue Multiflex (UltraFlex II available at Lowes or LATICRETE recommended if you wish, but make sure it says Multiflex.) with a 1 / 4 "notched trowel and board screws every 6 inches. then set your tile. no" special "tile.:) Just choose what you love. Do not chew! Putty is for certain applications on the walls. Remember the rules of glue: 3 / 8 "slot for any tile adhesive to 12" 1 / 2 "notch for tiles 13" and 16 "and 3 / 4" to a piece of 18 "or more. Any special nozzle that is needed. MAPEI Grout Lowes is a better than usual for Home Depot, in my opinion. Good luck!

Good luck. I’ve done three different floors in our older house, and all three had me cussing during installation (unlevel floors, walls not square, oddball plumbing to work around, etc). But when we finished, it was well worth it. And we saved a bunch of money on install. Just don’t take any shortcuts. Try to follow the recommendations (use backer board, where to start the first tile, etc), or you WILL regret it.
